Oh yeah, it is hot!

I took this screen shot of my "WRAL Desktop Weather" yesterday afternoon, thinking this would be the high for the day:

But alas, the sun kept shining and the heat kept rising until we hit and tied the HIGHEST high temperature reading for the RDU Airport... 105 degrees!

A record high temperature of 105 degrees was set at Raleigh-Durham
international Airport today... August 21st. This breaks the old
record of 101 set in 1983.

The high temperature of 105 also ties the all-time record high
temperature for the Raleigh-Durham international Airport.

Back from a much needed vacation!

We're back! We spent last week being lazy at Folly Beach (near Charleston, SC). It was a glorious vacation with my parents and brother. Despite the heat, bugs and mugginess, we had a great time on the beach, in downtown Charleston, at Ft. Sumter and just hanging around the sweet townhouse we rented (playing the Wii no less).

I've got loads of pictures and stories to tell... but not time to share now! I promise to update again soon with our vacation fun :)

Congratulations Kevin & Becky!

I wanted to do a quick post before the evening festivities continue celebrating the marriage of Kevin and Becky. They were married this afternoon in a beautiful, emotion-filled ceremony in the mountains of North Carolina. It just doesn't get any sweeter than this!
